Build the practical leadership and management skills you need to lead a strong school nutrition team.

TASN Managers Academy is a four-session professional development program designed for school nutrition managers who want to strengthen their knowledge, confidence and leadership skills.

Who Managers Academy Is For

Managers Academy is designed for cafeteria and school nutrition managers who are responsible for leading people, supporting daily operations and helping ensure a successful school nutrition program.

What You’ll Learn

The Academy focuses on skills managers can use in their day-to-day work. Topics may include:

• Leadership and team development
• Customer service
• Menu planning
• Human resources
• Cashier training
• Financial management
• Other operational topics important to school nutrition managers

Participation Requirements

To participate in Managers Academy, you must:

• Be a current, active TASN member
• Submit a letter of recommendation from your district supervisor or director

A food handler certificate is preferred before attending the Academy.

A Path Toward TASN Level 4 Certification

Managers Academy can help participants become eligible to pursue TASN Level 4 certification. Certification has additional requirements and an application process, so review the current TASN Certification Program information before applying.
