TASN Interim Executive Director

The Texas Association for School Nutrition (TASN) is seeking an experienced and adaptable Interim Executive Director to provide strategic leadership and operational management during a transitional period. This role requires collaboration with the executive committee and other members of the volunteer board and staff to support TASN’s mission of empowering school nutrition professionals across Texas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the association’s daily operations, ensuring the delivery of programs and services.
  • Collaborate with the board and stakeholders to manage and support the transition to a permanent Executive Director.
  • Provide financial oversight, including managing budgets, contracts, and reporting.
  • Foster communication and alignment between the board, staff, and membership.
  • Identify and address immediate organizational needs to maintain continuity.
  • Represent TASN at key events, meetings, and conferences.
  • Undertakes additional responsibilities as assigned to support the mission and goals of TASN

Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership experience in nonprofit or association management
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage transitions effectively, with a focus on collaboration and continuity.
  • Proficiency in virtual communication tools and other technology
  • Preferred: School Nutrition Administration experience
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Preferred: Certified Association Executive

Work Environment:

  • 20 Hours per week
  • Hybrid available: Must work onsite in the TASN office in Austin, TX, at least 8 hours per week
  • On location for TASN-hosted events
  • Reliable high-speed internet, a personal computer, and a functional webcam are required for remote work

Compensation:
Salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
This interim role is an opportunity to guide a vital organization through a critical transition while supporting its mission to advance school nutrition in Texas. This role is for a short-term, interim position only. Participation in this role does not guarantee consideration, selection, or employment in any future permanent or full-time position with TASN.
